Lineage renumbering - plus

As mentioned on Spot on the Modal, the lineages are undergoing a renumbering.

The reload of the One Name Study Lineages section today includes several of these but is probably incomplete, and highly likely to be still inconsistent with the Patriarchs page and the DNA Surnames  supplementary pages which both still need to catch up, particularly the DNA Signature charts.
Despite this reshuffle, several missing links have been corrected.

Included in the update mentioned above:

• the tree of Thomas and Ann (LAWSON) FAIRBAIRN of Fife had at least one new twig on one of the lines in New Zealand
• Alexander, the forefather of a line of FAIRBAIRNs in South Carolina since a least 1748, has been included, no descendant chart as yet
• see recent changes index for other changes, although some are there purely for background data changes, not published here.

Recent changes for the 11th

Several of those listed in the recent changes index on the One Name Study pages for today are there because typos and links have been corrected.
Those there because of newly included information have been identified in prior, recent, blog posts about their inclusion.

Robert & Janet (HOGARTH) FAIRBAIRN

Another lineage, that of Robert & Janet (HOGARTH) FAIRBAIRN was missed in the transfer of family information from the dna to the One Name Study pages.
They are therefore listed in the recent changes index because of this shift, rather than any new information becoming available.

Tweaks finished? Two new lineages added

The One Name  Study Lineage pages have been fully reloaded.
They should  now include all the person information (as opposed to place) that was once on the Analysis section, and all of the Researcher, Lineage, and Wanted! information that was in the FAIRBAIRN Surname DNA project supplementary pages.

The recent changes index is therefore a little fuller than normal, with many of the entries merely being there because of the above shift having been completed.
There are some textual alterations as the rationale behind some of the linkages has been reviewed and an attempt made to make some of the conclusions a bit clearer - no doubt more to come.

New to the pages are the trees of :

• Andrew and Helen (BLAKEBUL) FAIRBAIRN of Leitholm/Coldstream, and that for 
• John and Elspeth (ANDERSON) FAIRBAIRN of Girnick.

For the latter we now have a dna representative (F-49), and fingers crossed, should in due course find out how close the relationship between those represented on that row of Earlston headstones might be.
Wish we could find one for the South African family of John son of James and Agnes (BRACK) FAIRBAIRN.

Keep an eye on ...

... both of the recent changes indexes (analysis section, and lineages section) in case this diary isn't updated with what changed as the tidy up/rationalisation between the DNA pages, and the One Names Study analysis and lineages sections continues apace, and must surely nearly be finished!

The family of Robert & Jane (URQUHART) FAIRBAIRN of Glasgow then Pawtucket are newly included (18th), as is the family of Thomas & Elspeth (WOOD) FAIRBAIRN, but that listed on the 17th,  Robert (married Elizabeth CROSBIE) is only in the changes index because of a few typos being corrected.
For the 16th, (F-35) and his matching family, that of Francis & Agnes (DICKIESON) FAIRBAIRN shown on the 13th are brought over from the DNA project.

Bookmarks in the Analsyis Section:
If you have any real FAIRBAIRN people, as opposed to place page "people" eg FAIRBAIRN(SCT), bookmarked from the Analysis section of the One Name Study pages you will need to find them in the Lineages Section and re-bookmark them as they are transferred to where their lineages can be more easily attached and updated. (so the analysis section recent changes index is currently shrinking).

The Descendant charts section is being changed regularly at the moment as an appropriate structure is experimented with, along with how much to show on the first page to more readily identify lineages likely to be of interest.

Remember that there are DNA testing discounts going until the end of December, and it would be great to get a few more lines represented.
How about someone from the family of Thomas & Elspeth (WOOD) FAIRBAIRN? Or the Cockburnspath FAIRBAIRNs?

Military FAIRBAIRNs

The move of Descendant and Wanted! charts, together with the Researcher lists, from the DNA study pages to the One Name Study continues, and as before, whilst it does so, many links may well be broken, but hopefully fewer as time progresses.
This shift also means some of the missing trees for dna participants are now included.
Keep an eye on the Recent Changes index.
Most recent entries are because of the above shift apart from John. Having stumbled across him in Somerset he got placed into what is believed to be his Borders family, that of John son of John & Julian (BOAK) FAIRBAIRN, so their descendant chart has been updated.

What the recent change index doesn't yet show are the charts for two families with extended military service currently being researched for inclusion, and hopefully finding a direct male line FAIRBAIRN at the end of them to join the DNA project to (dis)prove suggested connections (to either Robert and Elizabeth (CROSBIE) FAIRBAIRN, and/or Ralph and Helen (CROW) FAIRBAIRN.

DNA results

Full results (Y-DNA37) now in for Bob (F-44) so the supplementary pages have had a few tweaks.

There are probably still more older analyses, descriptions etc that need an update by now. Some day, one with 48 hours in it.

28th: DNA pages updated

Several updates have been made to the DNA pages to incorporate the latest results, alter some of the older analyses and comments in light of more recent information, and, in the case of the dna signature charts, to remove any "corrections" previously given to some of the patriarchs where descendants were unique over Lineage 1 in having a particular value.
With more in the project now, these corrections are no longer necessary, and the method of maximum parsimony can be left to do its fully theoretical thing with our results.

In addition the recent changes index being used behind the scenes for checking has now been included as a public link - primarily because I keep forgetting to add comments here on what may have changed.

What has NOT yet happened is the inclusion of Robert(F-34)'s line in the Lineage 1 clump 2 dna signature chart.

The family, as opposed to dna, information is gradually being shifted to the One Name Study pages, with links generally inserted between the two on the appropriate people, eg John married to Agnes GIBSON.
